I'm researching Collin McNutt, Sr. who was in Boone Co., Ky. by 1816 and in
Switzerland Co. in 1818. He died 11 Jan 1838 and is buried in the McNutt
Cemetery.
His children, named in probate records were: Mary Ann Searcy [wife of
William Searcy], Martha Presser [wife of Henry Presser], Alexander McNutt,
Collin McNutt, John McNutt. Two sons, Patterson & George W. preceded their
father in death.
On 23 July 1842, Collin McNutt, Jr. produced the "Last Will & Testament of
Ruth McNutt" (Will Record 1, 1823-1847, p. 207). Legatee's were
Granddaughter Ruth Choate, Silas McGinnis, William E. Choate, Julius
Choate.
On 2 Nov 1842, John McNutt produced the "Last Will & Testament of Silas
McGinnis" (Will Record 1, p. 241). He left 80 acres of land in Perry Co.,
Ind. to William E. Choate, and lot No. 98 in Patriot, Switzerland Co. was
left to Ruth Choate.
Was Ruth McNutt Collin Sr.'s second wife? Have been told he was married to
Elizabeth Patterson, but have no proof. Who was Ruth before she married
Collin?
Will appreciate any clues to the above and would like to hear from others
working on this McNutt line.
