Hi Nancy and All
At the court house, check out what they have on the main floor in the records
dept. They were not very helpful to me last week. Guess they were too busy.
Don't forget to see what they have in the basement. They said, " There are a lot
of
old records there". When I found where it was I had to find every thing myself.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time there as you will have to do everything yourself
No one is there to help. I did find marriage record book that showed my Joseph
NOBLE to Love Adams NORTON in 1818.
I got lots of help at the Historical Society, a big red brick building at a
fork in the
main road comming from the east end of town. The cemetery is located on that road
#156 at the east end of town. Farther east on the same route are cemeteries at
the bridge crossing over to Kentucky. They call this Markland Dam( Dam 39)
but the dam is gone now. This is also sometimes called Hastie Cemetery.
From there go a little farther east to the Florence cemetery. All three of
these
are right along Route 156 on the side of the road.
I remember seeing HOUZE in one of these cemeteries.
Good luck to all

Hi everyone -
I'm researching the HOUZE, FULTON, LONG, MEEKER, NELSON lines.
I'll be in Switz Co next week for my first trip to snoop around. I need wills,
marriage bonds, tax records, etc. Any suggestions for a quick way to find
these items? All available at the court house in Vevay? Or should I hit the
Historical society first?
Appreciate advice from those of you who have gone before me.
Thanks
