Berkley Brandon is my gg grandfather. His wife's obituary showed that
he died in 1865, but we have never found a grave. Recently, we have
been told that he is likely buried in the Zion Cemetary in Craig
township. Can anyone either verify or disprove this for me.

Arthur--
If Zion Cemetery is Zion Chapel cemetery (otherwise known as "Taterbug"
cemetery) in Craig Twp., there's no evidence that there are any Brandons
buried there. I've not seen any tombstones with the Brandon name. Wanda
Morford's listing of all the tombstone inscriptions in Switzerland Co.
cemeteries doesn't show any Brandons in Zion Chapel. That doesn't mean your
g-g-grandfather isn't there; the cemetery was abandoned for many years, and
there are more graves than tombstones.
There is also a Mt. Zion cemetery -- I'm pretty sure it's also in Craig Twp.
I don't have any information on it.
You might contact Betty Lucas at the Switzerland Co. Health Dept. (812)
427-3220. She has the death records for Switzerland Co. They weren't kept
before 1882 in Indiana, but she might know if there are any other records of
the family.
Sorry I can't be more help.
