the holy bonds of wedlock, Sunday Dec. 9, 1907, at Vevay, by Rev. Lee
of the M.E. Church. The bride is the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Christopher Wiechard, and is a loveable young lady and has many
friends. The groom is the son of Mrs. Nan Thompson and is a highly
respected, industrious young man. Their many friends wish them

Gustav Schrumpf was born at Berlin, in Prussia, Germany, Jan. 4,
1837. He died at Florence, Ind., Dec.6,1907, aged 70 years and 11
months. He came to America in 1855, when but 18 years old. In the
fall of the year 1857, Miss Eliza Baatz came to this country, they
were united in marriage on the 28th of Dec. of the same year. This
union was blessed with one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Told of Florence. Those
who are left to mourn his loss are, his beloved wife, his daughter and
her husband and eight grand children, two of which having preceded the
deceased in death. He has two sisters, Mrs. Melotz, of near Markland,
and Mrs. Baker of Patriot, and one brother of Rising Sun, besides
other relatives and friends. Mr. Schrumpf has been in rather poor
health for quite a number of years, but was stricken with a paralytic
stroke on Friday. He lasted till Saturday evening, when he departed
his life. Mr. and Mrs. Schrumpf were to have celebrated their 50th
wedding annivrsary on the 28th of this month. But God's will not ours
be done, for He doeth all things well. Mr Schrumpf, since he came to
America, has spent the most of his life here in this vicinity. He was
a member and one of the founders of the German Reformed St. Johns
Church of this place, and held his membership until death summoned him
to the land beyond. Our sympathy is with the bereaved ones.

FRENCH'S SENSATION
__________
At River Tonight. Once Again We Will Have The Best of
Them All
__________
"Lomesome Moments of the Agent"
Father said that French's Show
Was coming to us soon,
And mother said that we could go
To see the funny coon.
For French's Show is noted,
To have the best afloat,
As well as large and roomy seats
In their grand theatre boat.
It's lighted by electricity,
And cooled with electric fans,
Sweet and soothing music
Is rendered by the bands.
Uncle Abe and Tillie
And little cousin Sue,
Will sit up in the gallery
And see the whole show thru.
Aunt Ella, with her children
Will buy seats close to the stage
Where she can see the pretty girls
That put people in a rage.
With all their costly wardrobe
And fancy golden laces,
Gliding lightly on the stage,
With pretty, smiling faces.
Sister teams are plentiful,
And the acts they do are new,
No doubt that they will please you
For with this show there's two.
But anyhow wer'e going to see
Our favorite New Sensation,
For it has always been the best
On the rivers of this nation.
So get your folks together,
All your cousins and your aunts,
Enjoy yourself in a youthful way,
With the music, song and dance.
Don't forget the date. Tonight, rain or shine.
