Hello,
I noticed you mention Campbell, Smith and Cowen in your associated
names.
Do you have a John Cambel, Charles or William Campbell in your line?
These 3 men were apparently associated with my 3rd G-Grandfather
Frederick Lineback in the Switzerland Co. area between 1812 and 1815.
I have many Smith's in my lines. They originate from Peter Smith Sr.
and wife Susannah Lineback that came into Switzerland Co. about 1814
from NC. I show they had 9 children - 7 sons and 2 daughters. Most if
not all married in Switzerland.
I also have a John Cowan (Cowen) that was a step-father of my 2nd
G-Grandmother Penelope Lineback-Webb. Information on John is rather
limited. He married Penelope's mother - Sally Webb-Lineback in Boone
Co., KY in 1825. It was the 3rd marriage for Sally. I'm sure it was
not the first for John as he died in Shelby Co., IL in October 1869 at
the age of 98 years according to his headstone. One census record for
John says he was born in Ireland and another says he was born in
Indiana. I'm interested in trying to tie him into the Cowan (Cowen)
line.
Thanks for responding.
Bill
