OBITUARY,

Switzerland County, died at noon December 7th, 1903, was born July
10th, 1829, living to the ripe old age of 74 years, 4 months and 27
days. He was united in marriage to Miss Sina Coy Feb. 13th, 1851. To
this union were born seven children six sons and one daughter;
Theadore, Abram, John, George, Frank, Prior and Anna Belle. The
daughter passed from this earth away, Dec. 23d, 1875. He lived all
these years, and died in the home where he was born.
He was very kind and indulgent father, a highly appreciated grand
father, a good and obliging neighbor, always ready to respond to every
charitable call. In him the poor and needy ever found a warm and
sympathizing friend, as has been manifested in numberless ways.
Feb. 13th, 1901, the children, grand children, great grand
children, together with a few invited friends, met and celebrated
their golden wedding, which occasion will ever be remembered by all
present, as a day of great joy and rejoicing here on earth. He bore
has afflictions without a murmur, and although he had been feeble for
three years past, the end came very unexpected.
By the hands the boon was given
Thou hast taken but thine own;
Lord of earth and God of heaven,
Ever more thy will be done.
The funeral services held in the Qurcus Grove Church were
conducted by Rev. J. G. Tedford, the Vevay Baptist pastor. The
remains were laid in the cemetery at that place.
