Jessie Coy, son of Robert and Hattie Coy, was born in York
Township, Switz. Co., Sept 7th 1880, died at the home of his parents
near here, March 8th, 1906.
Jessie had been sick for over a year, but only recently had taken
very bad. At the time of his death he was 25 years, 6 mo. and one day
of age. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters and four brothers to
mourn the loss of a kind and loving son and an affectionate brother.
Two sisters, Gertie Belle and Effie, have preceded him to that better
land, where there shall be no tears not parting.
Throughout his illness Jessie was cheerful and bore his suffering
patiently. Although he was not afraid to die, yet he had a great
desire to live, but God in his infinite wisdom, knew best, and called
him home to live in a better world, where there is no sickness or
death.
Jessie had many friends who mourn with his family. He died of
dropsy and heart disease. The funeral took place here in the German
Cemetery Saturday afternoon, Bro. Allie Robinson speaking a few well
chosen words over the body.
The remains was interred in the German cemetery.
