frank
going on the below from larry noble at
ancestry.com, i did some searching
in
genealogy.com as they have different, and many times better, stuff there.
in the R.I. Genealogical Register, Volume 1 No.1, Line of Descent from John
Albro, page 30 i'm sure you'll find Albro info that will be helpful to you
once you make a connection to it. i'll try to outline the info with out
having to type it all -- a lot of info from
genealogy.com i can not copy
and paste as it won't work.
john albro (1) b 1617 in england, died 12-14-1217 at portsmouth where will
was proven. he married dorothy (___) potter, widow of nathaniel
potter. dorothy born 1617 in england and died 2-19-1696.
children born in portsmouth:
1 samuel b 1647, d 11-15-1720, married isabel lawton
2 elizabeth
3 mary
4 john
5 susannah
samuel albro (2) b 1645 ipswich, england and portsmouth, r.i. (that's what
it says), son of john (1) and dorothy potter. samuel died 4-15-1739 in
95th year and buried 4-17-1739 at north kingstown. he married isabel
lawton who was born 1642-44 at portsmouth, dau. of george lawton (b 1607)
and elizabeth hazard (b 1626), and died 4-1-1730 ate 86-88 at north
kingstown and buried 4-3-1730 north kingstown.
children of samuel and isabel:
1. ruth

3. dorothy
4 sarah
major john (3) albro (samuel 2, john 1) was born abt 1680 at north
kingstown, his estate was administered in jan. 1847 at north kingstown. he
married (1) about 1715 margaret sweet who was born 9-22-1690 at north
kingstown, dau of dr. benoni sweet (b 1667), and died 10-27 or 11-2-1727 at
north kingstown. that margaret wife of john albro was the above mentioned
margaret sweet is based on two pieces of circumstantial evidence: in her
will elizabeth sweet widow (of benoni) mentioned her grandson samuel
(surname burned away). of the 41 grandchildren of benoni and elizabeth
sweet the names of 3 of the children of their son benoni are lost. however
of the remaining 38 grandchildren with known names (including the children
of john albro and margaret, presumed to be margaret sweet of benoni &
elizabeth) from vital records, wills, etc., only one, samuel albro, has the
name samuel. secondly, the fairly rare name benoni is found among the
children of john and margaret albro, and he appears to be named for
margaret's father. john married (2) about 1728 barbara (probably barbara
eldred) who was borna bout 1706 (under 21 in 1724) of north kingstown
probably dau. of capt. john eldred (b 1654) and margaret holden (b 1663).
children of major john, first 7 from 1st wife, 2nd 7 of 2nd wife:
1 samuel b 1716 md lois browning, dau of samuel browning and mercy
clark
2 john b b abt 1718 md freelong gardner
3 elizabeth b abt 1720
4 james (twin of isabel) b abt 1723
5 isabel (twin of james) b abt 1723
6 benoni b abt 1725, md mary or mercy browning, dau samuel
browning and mercy clark
7 stephen b abt 1727, md alice wait or weight, dau of joseph
weight and elizabeth sheffield
8 margaret bapt. 1729/30
9 elizabeth b 1731
10 lawton b 1735
11 isabella b 1736
12 barbara b 1737
13 william b 1739
14 (name burned away) b abt 1741
there is a bit more info but i didn't see any reference to a lazenby. but
i think you'll agree that with the lawton and isabel/isabella this must be
connection for when you can make it. in info after this, what was there, i
did not find another william. with isabella, wife of thomas lazenby, being
born 1793 if the william above (#13) b 1739 is her father then he would
have been 54 at her birth.
some additional info i found:
Index of Wills and Inventories, Vol III, Somerset County (N.J.) page 1229
Albro, William 3301R. W 1852 Inv 1852
it would appear that this william died in 1852 in N.J.
a william albro was in 1782 census in north kingston, washington co, R.I.
in 1790 Exeter, Washington co, r.i.
in 1820 ditto above
there was a william in 1810 greenwich, washington co, NY
also a william in 1820 warrensburg, warren county, NY and one in Pompe,
Onondaga county NY
hope this is helpful

at ancestry i found one thomas married to an isabella in the world tree
info, contact person is larry noble <lnoble30(a)comcast.com>
he lists thomas born 1795 - 1872 (no other information, sorry), wife Isa
Bella Albro b 1793, father William Lawton Albro, mother Amy Hopkins. says
married 1820 in NY. he also lists 3 children for thomas and
isabella: thomas S b 1820, caroline b 1825 and clara t. b 1844. had a
note there saying they came to indiana with Joseph and Susan Albro. he
lists children of William and Amy Albro as: Susan, Isa Bella 1793, Joseph
1803 NY, James, Samuel, Stephen and Job 1803. if they were married in NY i
would suggest widening your search into other states beyond PA.
