It is with a sad heart that we chronicle the death of one of our
old and highly esteemed citizens, William Henry Thompson, who died
Wednesday, May 30, 1906, in the 60th year of his age. He contracted
an illness some time ago from exposure and gradually grew weaker until
last Wednesday when he passed quietly away. Mr. Thompson was the
kindest of men and no one ever asked a favor of him in vain. He was
especially fond of the small boys who were often in his company. The
deceased leaves a widow, Mrs. Nancy Kelso Thompson, and one son
Clinton Carl, and a host of friends to mourn.
