Can someone help me find the best resources for
researching my possible Civil War veteran ancestors
from Switzerland Co. other than the National Archives
microfilm? I live in GA and have very few
opportunities to travel.
I am seeking verification and information on the
possible service of the following men:
James T. Nelson, b. 19 Jun 1827, d. 23 Aug 1864,
buried in Nelson Cemetery, Vevay. (Various "James
Nelson"s show up in the 7th, 30th, 40th, 48th, 134th,
142nd, and 146th Indiana Infantry Regiments)
Hugh H. Lamb, b. 25 Jul 1840, d. aft 1900, buried in
Cotton Cemetery, Jefferson Township. (possible service
in 4th Regiment, U.S. Infantry, Regular Army)
William A. Graham, b. 28 Jun 1838, d. 27 Dec 1904,
buried in Vevay Cemetery. ("William A. Graham" found
in 81st and 153rd Regiment, Indiana Infantry and 9th
Regiment, Indiana Cavalry. Various "William Graham"s
found in seven other regiments.)
Thanks for your help.
Paul Graham
