George W. Phillips
George W. Phillips, 62 years old, died yesterday at his home 320 West Sixth
street, following an illness of four weeks with pneumonia. He was born near
Hillsdale, Mich., Dec. 25, 1857. Thirty-two years ago he was married to
Miss Susan Christoph, who survives him.
Mr. Phillips had been employed at the plant of the Mishawaka Woolen Mfg.
Co., previous to that was in the employ of the city. Besides his wife, he
leaves two sons, Walter, of the American army in France; Leroy J., of the
United States navy, and one daughter, Ethel, at home. He also leaves a
sister, Mrs. James Lewis, of Lakeville, Ind.
Funeral services will be held from the residence Saturday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock. Roy Phillips. the son in the naval service, has arrived in the
city to attend the services.
