MORTUARY RECORD
Mrs. Ella Woodbury
Mrs. Ella Woodbury, 209 E. Fourth street, a resident of Mishawaka for the
past 80 years and one of the best known citizens, died last Friday
afternoon at 3 o'clock. She had been ill for some time, death being due to
the infirmities of old age.
Mrs. Woodbury was an aunt of Rose Hartwick Thorpe, author of "Curfew Shall
Not Ring Tonight," and was herself noted as a writer of poetry.
She was born in Canada, March 17,1836, being nearly 83 years old. Mrs.
Woodbury came to Mishawaka about 80 years ago and has since resided here.
Her husband. Charles Woodbury, died 18 years ago.
Mrs. Woodbury is survived by two sons, William Woodbury, of Nappanee, Ind.,
and George Woodbury, of Toledo, Ohio.
Funeral services were held from the residence Sunday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock. Rev. George W. Titus, of the First Christian church officiated.
