Here is info gleaned from obits in the South Bend Tribune:
Thursday, 3 Nov 1932
Jacob P. Rostiser, age 84, of 722 Blaine Av, died in his home at 11:30 Wednesday night
after a 2 week illness. He was born in Rome, New York on 8 Jan 1848 and came here 54 years
ago from there. He was married here on 17 Sep 1879 to Christina Allespaugh, who survives.
He also leaves one daughter, Miss Hattie M. Rostiser at home; and 2 brothers, William
Rostiser of Marcy, NY and Charles Rostiser of Albion, Michigan. Rev. Waldemar Goffeney,
pastor of Zion Evangelical Church, will officiate at funeral and burial will be in
Highland cemetery.
Wednesday 29 April 1942
Mrs. Christina T. Rostiser, aged 88, of 722 Blaine avenue, died at 4:30 pm Tuesday at home
after a 3-day illness. She was born in Rome, NY on 17 Jan 1854, and came here 65 years ago
from Rome. She was married here to Jacob T. Rostiser, who preceded her in death. She
leaves a daughter, Hattie, with whom she made her home, and a sister, Mrs. Daniel Golden,
of Rome. Funeral handled by L. H. Orvis funeral home, and Zion Evangelical and Reformed
Church. Burial at Highland Cemetery.

"Six Persons Die When Train Strikes Auto Bus"
There was a very short story, listing Helen Rostiser as one of the persons killed. The
following day, a funeral notice appeared saying it was a private funeral, Rev. Goffeney
presiding, and burial at Highland Cemetery.
Saturday 16 May 1964
Miss Hattie May Rostiser, 79, of 114 N. Main St. died at 5:30 am today in Memorial
Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born 13 April 1885, in Rome New York and had
lived in South Bend most of her lifetime, coming from Rome. She leaves no known survivors.
Funeral handled by Orvis Funeral Home, Rev. Edward W. Brueske, D.D., pastor of Zion United
Church of Christ. Burial at Highland.
