This sounds interesting too (and I might get extra time for this since
it's not actually *research* <g>). Where is the Indiana boyhood home?

I hear you ... but I doubt it could be as bad as the weather here in DC
...
The "Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial & Living Historical Farm" is in
Spencer county in Southern Indiana, and it definitely is hot and humid
here. The temperature today was 96 with heat index of 110, about the usual
for this time of year.
We were in the South Bend library two weeks ago, they have a fantastic
collection, including microfilms of the local newspapers. The librarian, in
the genealogy room on the second floor, was very helpful in getting us to
the information we wanted. We plan to return for more research, it is well
worth the time.
