Marty, first of all, congratulations for having such wonderful (and
determined) parents. I send them wishes for a day filled with good
memories, friends and family.
I will remind people that 60 years when written, looks like a long long
time when so much of ones surroundings are disappearing from around them.
However, as one who will celebrate (with my husband) her own 56th
anniversary in 10 days - Oct. 8th - it doesn't seem that long to the
celebrants!
These wishes come to you from Fort Worth, Texas.
Bettye & Ron Woodhull

What are your parents' names?
Marty Wells <mewells(a)kconline.com> wrote: Hello to all, I don't post very
often, but this time I have a bit of history to impart. Tomorrow,
September 28, 2007, my parents will be married for "60 years". They met at
Mount Pleasant School that was situated on my Great-Grandparents/
Grandparents farm, on Butternut Road, now under the Airport jet runway
extension. My Grandparent's Smith home, burned to the ground in January,
1940, in Ardmore. The family moved in with relatives on Olive Road, my
Great-Great Aunt and Uncle, and Mom and Dad both graduated from Mount
Pleasant with the class of 1942. Mother then went on to graduate from
Central High School with the class of 1946, and Dad served his country in
Japan in WWII. Now, we celebrate this milestone. They were blessed with us
five children, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Dad is
now 80, and Mother 79, another milestone in our family. They were married
in the house that was built by my Great-Grandfather
Grafton Boyer. Nothing remains of the farm, or!
any of the area there, but an old 8 mm film taken by my late Uncle Francis
Boyer, Mother's oldest brother. We have pictures of the house, Mount
Pleasant School, and Mount Pleasant Church. My parents have lived here on
their little farm for almost 53 years. Stop by and have a piece of their
Anniversary Special cake, and a cup of coffee. The welcome mat is always
out. Thanks, Marty Smith Wells, New Carlisle, Indiana
