Hello. My name is Frances Anderson and I'm doing some researching
regarding my g-g-g grandparents and their descendents. My g-g-g
grandfather was John Alsop Stiles and he married Mary Ann Keyes in
1841. I know they both died in 1850 (about 5 months apart) and they are
both buried in the city cemetary in Mishawaka. They had 5 children at
the time but two died within the next couple of years. I descend from
their daughter Frances Jane Stiles. One of her brothers was Chester Lee
Stiles who married Hannah Milburn. They had 2 daughters that I know of,
May Stiles (who married Schuyler Colfax Rose) and Edith who married at
man from Texas and moved there. I do know there is a park in Mishawaka
named Rose Park and that it's near the property that the Stiles once
owned. Would anyone know how that park was named or how I could find
out. I have made a few trips to Mishawaka, but am always limited on
time and thought I'd ask through this method. I know also that May and
Schuyler had a son they named Jay Stiles Rose, but I don't know much
more than that they also had a granddaughter named Lorena.
I'm also looking for any information on Arthur Keyes (brother of Mary
Ann Keyes). He died around 1900, but he and his wife (Clarinda Meyers)
had 2 children. Looking for information on the son, William D. Keyes
who married a Hattie Eberhardt. The write up in the newspaper for their
wedding was quite extensive and I'm curious about any children they may
of had and if anyone out there can help me. Their daughter, Emma Keyes,
married a man by the name of Henry Walker of Niles, Michigan.
Thank you for any help.
Frances Anderson
