I had very good luck with the state archives although it took about 2
months to actually get the papers. If you have an approximate date they
will search for the record and send you copies. If no dates then they will
do a search of records for 10.00 per 1/2 hour . I first sent an e-mail to:
sarchives(a)icprlan.state.in.us with the names and approximate dates. I
cannot remember how or why I had the right date range.
They replied quickly , cost of copies was nominal, about 2.00 for 10 pages.
plus 1.00 for postage. they also had photos that they can reproduce for
14.95. Like I said I sent an e-mail 1st and they replied with what they
found and the cost. Then I sent payment and waited about 1 month for it to
be mailed. It was well worth the effort!
Just to let you know how they operate I am pasting their e-mail they sent to
me. Good luck!
Anne

copy of e-mail I received:
Hello again!
Well, I have checked our St. Joseph county Naturalizations, and found the
records for Elizabeth Frey and Frank Hegyi. The total cost for both records
is
only $1.75, plus a dollar postage. BUT! There were also photographs in the
files, which, if you like, I can have reproduced for only $14.50 each (The
cost
is due to the fact that we have no security negative available for the
print).
There is then a 3$ postage charge to mail them (total, not each).
You can send your check or money order to the

And... I checked, but Martin Frey and Justina Nemeth Hegyi did not
naturalize
with their respective spouses. If you would like for me to research the
records
a bit, I can, but I will have to charge a research fee of 10$ per half hour.
I
did, however, find that the following people DID naturalize in 1943:
Anna Nemeth
Mary Nemeth
Julius Nemeth
Michael Nemeth
I don't know if they are of any interest, but I thought I would let you know
about them. :)
Sincerely,
Jennifer Wigley
