Stefani,
My great great grandmother was Mary Clark, who was born in VA. In the 1850
Marshal County Census (county bordering St. Jo on the East) she is listed as age
24 along with her husband Philip Keplinger 27 and I think her father, John Clark
age 50. In the 1860 St. Jo Census Philip and Mary had moved to South Bend. John
Clark does not show up in either county at that time. Your John Clark may be a
brother or cousin to my Mary. It is interesting that Philip was born in Ohio. I
think the Kiplinger's and the Clark's knew each other in Ohio. My John Clark was
born in VA. Philip and Mary were married in St. Joseph County in 1847.

John Clark signed a deed in St. Joseph Co. in 1888, and was named as deceased
in the obit of his son, John Franklin Clark in 1900. Death not recorded in
St. Joseph, Marshall, LaPorte or Elkhart counties. Debryann Adams, b. 25

buried in the Fair Cemetery; daughter of Gilbert Dingee Adams and Susan
Anderson. Susan (Anderson) Adams died in about 1836, Miami Co., and Gilbert
Adams remarried. In his will, he named [among others] his daughter Debryann
Clark and daughter Salome Clark. Salome and Robert Clark died in Vermilion
Co., IL, in 1906 and 1907].
I am assuming [without proof] that Salome Clark is the half sister of
Debryann Clark, and would like to know if John Clark and Robert Clark are
related. I would like to explore these Clark families further, and would
like to find parents for John Clark. Also in Lakeville, Union Twp. in 1860:
Family No. 682: Henry Clark, 40 years, b. OH, farmer, $800, $200
Family No. 787: Dav[?]Clark, 61 years, b. NY, farmer [sons 27 and 30 years
