Francis Labadie
Francis Noble Labadie, 624 N. Scott St., died at 9:30 p.m. Friday in his
residence after an illness of two years. He was born in White Pigeon, Mich.,
1888, and came to South Bend 50 years ago from White Pigeon. He married Bessie
Mae Kennedy, June 18, 1913, in South Bend. He was employed by the Studebaker
Corp. since 1927. Besides his widow, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Louis
Harden, south Bend, and Mrs. John Seawell, Richland, Wash.; five grandchildren; a
brothers, Joseph, Niles, Mich; and two sisters, Mrs. Milton Smith of
Gardnia, Calif., and Mrs. Arvid Nelson, of South Pasadena, Calif. Friends may call
after noon Sunday at the Orvis Funeral Home where services will be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday. Rev. William N. Whear, D. D. pastor of the Grace Methodist
Church, will officiate and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. He was a member
of the Studebaker UAW-CIO Local 5.
