Good question....My Harris descendants came to St. Joseph Co, abt. 1829-30.
Harris Prairie was named for Jacob Harris. I think it was alot of swamp
land but once drained, the land was productive. The Harris family moved
from Ohio to Indiana. Think if you get in touch with John Palmer at the St.
Joseph Co. Public Library, he could tell you all about St. Joseph Co.
