Hi Everyone,
The South Bend Area Genealogical Society had used a post office since
the
society was founded in 1976, and most of the materials owned by the
society
were spread among various officers and members. (Most of the books
that
they "owned" are actually in the St. Joseph County Public Library Local
History/Genealogy Room.)
But when the Mishawaka-Penn Public Library purchased the old Mishawaka
Post Office and added it to its remodeled library (next to the Post
Office), the Society was given enough space for a really impressive
office
with room for expansion. They changed the mailing address in January
1999,
which probably explains why the Post Office didn't have a forwarding
address on file any more.
Cordially,
John Palmer
