Mrs. Schindler called by Death
Well known local woman dies in hospital illness of Several Days proves fatal
to wife of prominent local attorney - four children survive
Mrs. Mary Ola Schindler, age 40, of 810 Lincoln Way East, wife of John W.
Schindler, prominent local attorney, died at 11:20 o'clock Sunday morning
following an illness of several days. Death was due to Bright's disease,
according to diagnosis made Saturday. She had been ill since Tuesday, and
most of the time wince she was stricken she was unconscious.
Mrs. Schindler had spent virtually all her life in and near Mishawaka. She
was born Feb 5 1886 in the farm home of her parents, Mrs. And Mrs. Jacob
Buchheit, south of Mishawaka. Her marriage to Mr. Schindler took place Nov
17 1910. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic church and
affiliated church societies, of the Mishawaka Women's club, and of the
Scholarship club of South Bend.
Surviving relatives are her husband, 4 children, Christine, Louise, John
Jr., and Helen, all at home and 3 sisters, the Misses Clara Vera and
Isabelle Buchheit. Miss Isabelle Buchheit has been spending the summer in
California, but left for Mishawaka Saturday noon. Word was received at noon
today that Mrs. Schindler's sisters will arrive Tuesday in Mishawaka, so the
funeral will be Wed morning at 10:30
o'clock from St. Joseph's church, the Very Rev. John R. Keller officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph's cemetery.
