Death Terminates Lingering Ailment
Louis Buchheit passes away after long illness.
Was nearly 55 years old - many years of his life spent in Dakota
Louis Buchheit, of 214 South Mill Street, aged 55 years, one of the well
known residents of this city, died this morning at 4:10 o'clock in St.
Joseph hospital, where he had been taken Saturday morning for treatment.
Death was caused by an illness of 8 years standing that being the date of
his first operation.
He was born in Waterloo county, Ontario, Can,. July 6, 1857 and came to this
city with the family at the age of 5 years. About 30 years ago, he went west
to North Dakota and in 1900 returned to Mishawaka where he has made his home
since. He was never married.
Mourning the passing of Mr. Buchheit are 3 sisters, Mrs. Anton Wolf, several
miles east of Mishawaka; Misses Frances and Elizabeth Buchheit, at home; 2
brothers, Jacob of 516 West Third street, and Joseph Buchheit, of Binford,
N.D.
Mr. Buchheit was a member of St. John's court, No 952 Catholic Order of
Foresters, and from that organization the pallbearers will be selected. The
funeral will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning from St. Joseph Church.
Rev. L. A. Moench officiating. Interment in St. Joseph cemetery.
