You can also check with Genealogy Room of the St. Joseph County Library.
They have a great collection of local history and microfilms. If you don't
live in the area, they will search their clippings file for you for a small
copying fee. Their website is at:
http://www.sjcpl.lib.in.us/homepage/LocalHist/LHpolicies.html
This page will tell you how to go about requesting research and what
information they need.
Good luck,
Pam

Subject: [INSTJOSE] Lindecker/Mishawaka pre 1874/Milburn Wagon Works
Dear List,
I am trying to trace my Lindecker family. Thanks to a kind soul I have
proof that my family was in Mishawaka in 1860. I know that Joseph and
Josephine Lindecker lived there until 1874. Joseph worked for the Milburn
Wagon Works.
Does anyone know where I could get information about this company? I have
newspaper clippings that say the Milburns came to Toledo (and my family
came
with them) when the factory moved to Toledo in 1874.
Joseph Lindecker was a superintendent in the Toledo factory, and a wheel
wright.
I have searched the Germans to America books for the Lindecker family and
cannot find them. They came to the US between 1855 and 1859. Would
appreciate any ideas as to how else I could find when they came to the US,
and on what ship.
Thanks so much,
Mimi
