Shirley,
I don't know if this is your grandfather, but I thought I would pass it on:
INDEX TO MARRIAGE RECORD ELKHART COUNTY 1850-1920 INCLUSIVE VOLUME I LETTERS
A-E INCLUSIVE 1of 2 and 2of 2 P. 232

Hi again Pam,
The names that I am researching are Hylaszek, (or Makovitch) my
grandmother,
and Culp, my grandfather. They married in early 1920's, but I
have never
found their marriage certificate. He, (Melvin Culp), was from a
disfunctional family in Elkhart County, and she, (Eleanor Hylaszek or
Makovitch) was from a very old country Polish family that never spoke of
her
past. They both had connections to St. Joe. If you ever come across
anything please keep me in mind. Thanks a million.
