I saw your posting on the St. Joseph, Indiana message board and did find Jacob in the 1930
census on
Ancestry.com and a marriage record in St. Joseph Co., Indiana on the USGenWeb -

According to the 1910 census Jacob immigrated to the US in 1902 and Sophia immigrated in
1903.

My guess is that Jacob and Wilma eloped to South Bend, Indiana to get married. It is
located about 75 miles south of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
