Asa Gill Dies At Healthwin
Former Resident of Bremen, Ill 18 Months
After an illness of 18 months, Asa Arthur Gill, aged 56, of 1213 East
Third Street, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in Healthwin hospital, north of South
Bend. Mr. Gill was born March 18, 1886, in Starke County, Indiana, and came
to Mishawaka 21 years ago from Bremen, Ind. He married Miss Enda Brown March
1, 1915, in Bremen.
Surviving are his wife; his mothers, Mrs. Cora Coil, of Mishawaka; five
half sisters, Mrs. Ralph Smith, Mrs. Joseph Kunce, Mrs. Thomas King, Mrs.
Morris Beisbrouck and Mrs. Ethel Mestach, all of Mishawaka; six half brothers.
Clem Coil, of Osceola; Russell Coil, Carm Coil and Melvin P. Coil, all of
Mishawaka and R. J. Gill and Marvin Gill, both of South Bend.
Mrs. Gill was a member of Mishawaka lodge No 1262, Loyal Order of Moose.
Friends may call at Bubb chapel after 5 p.m. today. A short prayer services
will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the church followed by a service at
2:30 p.m. in Salem Evangelical church Bremen. Rev. Richard Coil, pastor of the
Church of the Nazarene, assisted by Rev. I. H. Griesmer, of Salem
Evangelical church, will officiate and burial will be in Bremen.

Betty L. Gill
Betty L. Gill, 61, of 917 Burdette, died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday in
Greenspring Manor. In 1985, Mrs. Gill retired as an ironer in the laundry department
at the University of Notre Dame following 10 years of service. She was born
April 30, 1927, in New Carlisle and lived in Mishawaka for 40 years, coming
from New Carlisle. On April 28, 1983, As Betty L. Sutton, she married Lonnie
Gill. He survives with two stepdaughters, Norma J. Mezykowski and Debra Riffle
of South Bend; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister,
Lela B. Heckathorn, died Dec. 14, 1987.
Service will b e at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 202 N. Main.
Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Carl W. Gill
Carl Walter Gill, 24, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the State School,
Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for the last 10 years. He had been ill
since birth. He was born on Feb 3, 1938, in South Bend. He is survived by his
mother, Mrs. Margaret Troutmiller, of South Bend; his fathers John Gill, of
Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother Terry Gill, of South Bend; his maternal
grandmother. Mrs. George Barsel, of South Bend, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs.
Marie White of Chicago. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Orvis
Funeral Home, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. August D.
Stork, pastor of Lowell Heights Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will
be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Carl W. Gill
Carl W. Gill, 24, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the State School, Fort
Wayne, who died Wednesday will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Orvis Funeral
Home. Rev. August D. Stork, pastor of Lowell Heights Methodist Church, will
officiate and burial well be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Pallbearers will
be Charles Cox, William Smith, Edward Morey and Larry Weaver.

Charles A. Gill
Charles A. Gill, age 70, died in his home 305 East Dayton Street Monday
afternoon at 4 o'clock following a two years illness of hardening of the
arteries. Mr. Gill was a retired grocer, having operated a grocery on East Milton
Street until two years ago. He was born in Wells County, Ind. Oct. 2, 1859
and had lived in this vicinity for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Hester Gill, a son Rudolph Gill of Andrews, Ind., and two brothers Adam Gill of
Sandusky, Mich. and John Gill, of Chicago.
The body may be viewed at the G. O. Gaff funeral parlors until Wednesday
afternoon, following which it will be at the residence. Funeral services will
be conducted in the Broadway Evangelical church Thursday morning at 9:30
o'clock with Rev. G. S. Lozier, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Albion,
Mich.

Charles F. Gill
MISHAWAKA - Services for Charles F. Gill, 73, of Kokomo, formerly of
Mishawka, who died Saturday at Howard Community Hospital, Kokomo, will be at 1
p.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 202 M. Main St. Burial will be in
Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Gill was an employee of the former Oliver Corp. He was born Feb 8,
1916, in Mishawaka and had lived most of her life in the Michiana area. He is
survived by three daughters, Juanita Amor, Connie Bixler and Barbara Kaler,
all of Mishawaka; a son, Charles R. of South Bend; six grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Hale of Mishawaka and Gladys Meyers of
Granger; and two brothers, Lonnie and Edward, both of Mishawaka. He was a
veteran of World War II .

MISHAWAKA - Charles Robert Gill, 67, of West Jefferson Road, died
Saturday in his home. The St. Joseph County Corners office is investigating the
cause of death. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Jones of Michigan; two sons,
Timmy Jones of Michigan and Gary L. Gill of Jackson, Tenn. and three sisters,
Connie Water, Juanita Amor and Barbara Kaler, all of Mishawaka. There will
be no services. Friends may call from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Connie
Water residence. 1912 N. Byrkit St. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling
arrangements.

Debra Sue Gill
Debra Sue Gill, 11 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gill, jr., 126
W. 8th Street, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Northern Indiana Children's
Hospital, South Bend, where she had been a patient since March 1964. She had
been ill since birth in Mishawaka on Sept 1, 1956. Surviving besides her parent
are two brothers, Dwayne and Divid, and two sisters, Sharon and Georgia, all
at home; her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gill, sr., Mrs. Floyd Baker and
Howard Soule all of Mishawaka, and her great grandparents. Mrs. Georgia Marie
Starrett, Plymouth, and Mrs. Myrtle Truley (Treely) and Mrs. Maude Imus of
Mishawaka. Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the First Church of God with
the pastor, Rev. William C. Neece, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview
Cemetery. The child was a member of the First Church of God.
