Hi Mimi,
I checked the indexes for St. Joseph County and the only Linedecker that I
could find was a marriage:
Lindecker Stephen Mary Ann Smith Jun. 23 1868 6 24
Unfortunately, the records start at 1882 and are sparse from 1882-early
1900's, when it became law to register vital statistics. Earlier than this,
church records are your best bet. You might also try contacting the St.
Joseph county library to see what they have on the name. They have a huge
genealogy room.
Good luck,
Pam

Subject: [INSTJOSE] LINDECKER & LEYENDECKERS ,1855-1874 in St Jos.'s
I am looking for information on the LINDECKER and LEYENDECKERS of the
area.
I am particularly interested in tracing a Joseph C. LINDECKER. He
was
born
in Baden Baden, Germany, and he and his wife, Josephine, and an
infant son
settled in St. Joseph's. They lived there for 20 years...but I do not
have
the specifics...
I have a copy of their son Joseph Conrad Lindeckers 1860 baptism record
from
the Catholic Church.
Now I am trying to trace this Jos. and Josephine.
Any suggestions?????
They left Indiana and moved to Toledo, Ohio- which is where I live. I
just
cannot seem to trace them backwards. Any help is appreciated.
I am just really stuck here!
Many Many thanks,
Mimi
