I noticed the date discrepancy as well, but didn't know what to think of it as I couldn't view the articles.
Someone sent me the obituary lately, so I no longer need to request a copy.
I'll be turning my inquiries soon to Berrien County, Michigan to find info on Isaac's wife who died there in 1917 and I believe one of their children died there as well.

Wow! You've been busy. Thanks for all the info.
I was sent an obituary for Isaac Schreiber just recently. Isaac's wife's maiden name was Sebina Gelnett. She appears in the earlier census records in PA as Lovina or Louvina or such instead of her later name of Sebina.
For some odd reason I didn't seem to be getting any emails letting me know that I had replies to my inquiry until the very last ones.
Once again, thanks for the info.

I am not researching Isaac Schrieber, just trying to help the original writer of this message posted. You should write to her posted request or she might not see it.
Thanks.

Quick clarification--I'm a librarian at the St. Joseph County Public Library, and I monitor and correct our Obituary Index. I just finished fixing the info. on Isaac H. Schreiber to correct a mistake I noticed because of this post. The Obit Index said that there were items in the paper on 5/23/1927 and 4/24/1927, but that should be 5/23/1927 and 5/24/1957.
You can request copies of this and any other St. Joe Co. obits, by the way, by sending in an information request form. Visit http://www.libraryforlife.org/aboutsjcpl/departments/localhistory/query/q... to read more about our policies and fees.
To use our Obituary Index yourself, just visit http://www.sjcpl.org/localhistory/ , click on "Digital collections and databases," and then on "Obituary Index."
Thanks!

Not sure of what all you have so will send what I found.
Found on the St. Joseph Co. site the following deaths:
Isaac died in 1927. His obit was in the South Bend Tribune
(two dates were given) May 23, 1927 Section 3 Page 5 and April 24, 1927 Section 1 Page 8. Address was RR6 South Bend, IN.

Message Board Post:
I am looking for information on my great granduncle Isaac H. Schreiber who lived the later years of his life in South Bend, Indiana. I believe that he died there as well. He was born around 1955 and probably died somewhere around 1927 or later.
He was born in Pennsylvania and travelled out west later after his parents went west to Kansas. He lived for a time in Berrien County, Michigan and then later moved to St. Joseph County, Indiana.
He may have moved to Indiana to live with his daughter after the death of his wife because he is listed as living with his daughter's family in 1920 as a widow. His wife was still alive in 1910 and he lived with her then in Berrien County, Michigan. Then again, she may have died after moving to Indiana for all I know.
Her name was Sabina or Sovina, but I am not currently aware of her maiden name, when she died, or where she died. I do know that she must have died between 1910 and 1920 for sure.
They had 3 children that I am aware of. Harry D., Carrie M., and Emmery Schreiber.
If anyone can help me with info on Isaac, his wife, and what happened to the children, I would really appreciate it.
I have some info on Harry D. Schreiber and Carrie, but nothing on Emmery. And I know nothing about any of them beyond what is mentioned in the Census records.

DID ANYBODY FEEL THE EARTHQUAKE THIS MORNING at 5:37 AM??????? WOW it WOKE ME UP from a deep sleep!
No damage though THANK GOODNESS
John D in Niles
--------------------
Was that Central time or Eastern? The reason I ask is because I was awakened suddenly at 6:38 AM. News Talk 960 has been reporting it all mornig as the time you mentioned so I assumed they were talking Central. From reports, people felt it all the way up into Northern Michigan and as far East as Georgia.
For those of you that didn't hear the news, there was a 5.7 earthquake in southwestern Illinois, 41 miles from Evansville, IN on the Wabash fault line.
So maybe I felt it. :-)
Rick B
By the way folks, that was 5:37 AM Eastern Time
