Hi Harold!
I think that Clifton Eugene Gibson might be the Unknown Gibson I have
been looking for for some time. I did locate a James Gibson on one of the
Military websites giving St. Joseph Co., IN and a date later in the year 1952, I
think. I'll have to check that later today.
My Unknown Gibson was listed as the first husband of Reta Alice(nee
Kreiter) Gibson -- "death 1952 , Korea" -- on her second marriage license to
Adrian Kline dated 3/5/1955. He was a distant cousin of my wife's Holderman family.
There is this entry to consider:

I am searching for the families of 2 soldiers that were POW/KIA in the Korean War. When they entered service they gave St. Joseph County, Indiana as thier home of record
Soldier: CLIFTON EUGENE GIBSON
Born: June 7, 1929, Caucasion
Date of loss; October 15, 1952, MIA
Soldier; JAMES PLUMP
Born; April 6, 1922, Black
Date of loss; November 27, 1950, KIA
When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. These are 70 families from Indiana that are missing and two from St. Joseph County.
When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.
I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

In my Indiana Birth Index I fould two births for Herman Hackbarth and Ida Klowetter in St. Joseph Co. IN.
Helen b. Dec. 28, 1906 and Ruth M. b. May 2, 1914.
In my Indiana Marriage Index I found a marriage for Herman Hackbarth and Lena Klowetter Dec. 27, 1900 in St. Joe Co.
I also see a male child, Herbert, born April 27, 1892 in St. Joe Co. to C. W. Schwartz and Augusta Hackbarth.
Hope this helps.
I am looking for information on Paul William SCHNEIBER, born February 7, 1873
in Germany. He immigrated to the United States probably with his parents in
1881. They lived in Chicago, Illinois. After 1930 he moved to Walkerton, IN
where I believe he died on July 7, 1944.
His siblings Richard, Frederick and Mary F. (SCHNEIBER) NEUBERT may have also
lived in the area. He had two others sisters Martha and Annie SCHNEIBER, but
I don’t know who they married or what happened to them.
Thank You for any help.

INTEREST IS LAGGING.
Cleosophic and Eugiossian Societies at High School Indifferent.
Action relative to the activity and maintenance of the two literary societies of the High school, the Eugiossian and Cleosophic, will be taken at a meeting of the faculty this afternoon, according to the announcement made to-day. A committee composed of the faculty members who at any time who have become members of either society will be intrusted with the power to either stimulate activities in these organizations during the coming year or to abandon them for the time being. Little interest other than the annual Interlude contest has been shown in the two organizations for the past year and it is probable, in the opinion of students, that little will be done until the school is moved into the new building where suitable facilities will be at hand for mass meetings and entertainments.
The deportment and application of the students of the school will also come before the teachers this afternoon as this is the last week of the quarter, grade cards being distributed the first of next week. The completion of the sponsor lists and details relative to the making of the quarterly reports will compose the remaining business of the session.
