Hi Rebecca
Nice to hear from someone after so long.
Yes, Charles Dixon (Dickson) was the son of Charles (Capt Dixon) & Kimquatah (Hanna I or Lydia Thorpe)
They had 2 children a daughter Hanna as well. She & Charles both were very young when Kimquatah died.
I don't have birth dates, but I have met with descendents of this family.
On one of the allotment papers & on a census, there was a Cornelius Cotesepin mentioned has a relative of Capt. Dixon & living with them. I don't know who he was for sure, but I was told he went the to the reservation.
Capt Dixon also had an infant child die.
Are you from the Hale family?
Hope I've helped you some.
Pam

Message Board Post:
Greetings,
Searches through Ancestry.com bring out the following about Jacob (born July 1833) and Mary Jewett (born March 1839) Telford:
1850 Census: Jacob living with parents James and Mary in Middlesex, Yates Co., NY. Father James born in NY and mother Mary born in England.
1860 Census: Mary Jewett living with parents in Lima Township, Washtenaw Co., Michigan. Father Lester born in CT and mother Hannah born in NY. Mary's occupation is listed as "Teaching Music."
No record of Jacob in this census.
1870 Census: Jacob and Mary living in Iowa. He is a farmer.
1880 Census: Jacob and Mary living in Denver, CO. He is a wholesale Grain Dealer.
1900 Census: Both living in Grand Junction, CO. He shows no occupation (so probably retired) and Mary is listed as "lecturer." This census shows they have been married 36 years, so that would indeed mean 1864 nuptials.
The American Civil War record shows he was wounded in 1862. Interestingly, one of the data bases is Veteran's Cemeteries, and it shows Jacob, died in 7 July 1905, Corporal, 15th, buried in Sect P, Site 6140, but does not list the name of the cemetery. It states his last home of record was in Tennessee.
Hope some of this helps. What sort of book are you contemplating?
Regards,
Jerry

That's correct, Joe F. Hale married Lavinia Dixon. That is where the Hale name comes into the Miami lines.
Charles Dickson married Emmeline Craig, daughter of Hettie Craig. Charles was actually married 3 times. My question on this family is, is there any proof that Charles 100% certain, the son of Hannah, or is there any evidence that he may possibly be the son of Dixon's first wife Tahkehquah? Please let me know what you think.

I found in the 1930 census so. bend ind....Jennie wife of joseph with two children dorothy and bernard...they have the last name Rydzinski....so maybe just Ervin/Erwin was born to her in a previous marriage to a ? Kubiak ....otherwise the record (1930 census) would have shown step son ...step daughter..... hope all is well ...joe jareck
Hello,
I need a lookup in the 1910 St. Joseph County, Indiana census for the household of:
Amos Juckett and wife Maude. Also interested in any marriage, burial records on this family in the St. Joseph / La Porte County, Indiana area. Maude was an Ott prior to her marriage to Amos Juckett. Her parents were Joseph Ott and Sarah Diamond.
Thanks,
Willie Smith

Hi,,
I am writing a book on my ggg aunt and uncle Jacob TELFORD of the 15th Ind. Volunteers, Civil War.
Would appreciate anything on the TELFORD family (for now even what town in St. Jos. Co. they lived in)-- Jacob was born in NY state about the 1840s; the family (or maybe just Jacob) moved to St. Jos. Co. from NY state before the Civil War.
Jacob was in the 15th Indiana Volunteers, Co. B (this company was mostly formed in St. Jos. Co. it appears).
Jacob and Mary Telford were married at her father's hometown in NY state and I do not believe they ever lived in IN after that.
Many, Many thanks!
Clay
