Message Board Post:
I am researching the members of the Kubiak family who immigrated to the Everson, PA area in the 1880s and 1890s and moved to South Bend, Indiana in the 1890s and 1900s. The people I am researching include:
Valentine Kubiak and his wife Katarzyna Figorski Kubiak Jaworski (1846-1916) - their children were Josephine (1876-1941), Michael (1867-1941), John (born 1884), and Vincent (1882-1952) (and possibly Agnes).
Michael (born 1839) and Josephine Kubiak - Josephine's maiden name might be Burzynski, but I am not sure. Children include Jacob and John, but there could be others.
Wojceich Kubiak (born 1849) and his wife Maryanna Wicherski Kubiak.
Joseph Pinkowski and Frances Kubiak Pinkowski
Martin Kubiak (born 1847) and Antonia Kominowski Kubiak
Stanley Kubiak (born 1865) and his wife Frances Witzinski
Kubiak
Joseph Kubiak
I think these Kubiak's were all brothers and sisters, but I can't be sure from the research I've done. My research seems to point to all of them settling in the Everson area initially and most eventually moving to South Bend. I've located many of the them in the census in South Bend and Pennsylvania, but so far none of their pre-1920 obituaries mention each other. But it seems reasonable that if they all have the same last name, they were all born within 15 years of each other, most settled in Everson originally, and most ended up in South Bend, that they would have to be related.
If anyone has come across the Kubiak family in their research, could you please contact me so we can compare notes?

Bet you all thought that I was out loafing around....well not the case.
Been rather busy and with all the storms that seem to be passing through must be
affecting the ole computer cause it just did not want to load pictures the
past couple of days. Seemed as though it was taking forever. Amongst having
lots of other things to get accomplish. Never fret if you have not seen your
submissions posted yet, they will be soon. Going to be asking Georgia to
help out again with some transcribing/sorting of obits, that seems to help to
get them posted faster and on top of that she tells me that she has several
more to get to me on top of that.
I have finished disk #7 that Jim sent me on the Ladewski papers and starting
to work on disk # 8 and there are at least 2 more of those and sure that he
will be sending me more when he gets the time. There are oh my! better than
1000 obit yet to put on the web site and this all takes time....don't get me
wrong this is the best that this web site has seen in a long time and it is
all through the efforts of all of you that it is becoming a great place to
research. I receive many e-mails telling me what a help the St. Joe County site
is now.
To make a mention, I had one lady contact me a few days ago, she lives many
miles out of State and she recently lost her father who lived here. She told
me that the web site has been a comfort to her during her time of sorrow.
It has made her feel closer to home and to her dad.
So as far as I am concerned, you can all give yourselves a pat on the back
for helping to create this wonderful site. I for one say "Thank You"
Now to the latest update:
"J" (incomplete) of the _Ladewski Papers _
