I have copies if a letter stating that Valentine came to the US via Davenport Iowa from Kaiserslautern. His son (?)Charles was born in Canton Ohio on 2/8/1832. The notes states that Valentine started a brewery in South Bend and that after he died and his wife Barbara remarried (Wagner) they took over the brewery. Im interested in finding out any other information that you might have. Charles Tascher is my gggrandfather

THE MORTUARY RECORD.
From the Daily Tribune of Thursday.
Charles Wittner.
Charles, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Wittwer, of 502 West Madison street, died at 5:20 o'clock this morning. [Wittner and Wittwer are as spelled in the newspaper.]
Was wondering if someone could look up in the wills and probate, the
name Elizabeth NIESEN. She was my great grandmother on my dad's
maternal side, and I found her name in the index. Was wondering what it
said about her. Thanks

Subject: [INSTJOSE] St. Joseph Cemetery?
Hi,
I'm trying to locate St. Joseph Cemetery where my relatives are located. They
lived in Mishawaka. I tried the cemetery in South Bend and Granger, but
they're not there. Was there a St. Joseph Cemetery in Mishawaka? Where can I write
to them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

At the present time I am not able to make that search for you. It would help them in the searcfh if you had any other information such as nationality, residence location, name of church.

I have not heard these two names however our Rosalie Cwiklinska Cihos (Cichosz in Poland) came to South Bend, Indiana about 1913/1914 and child born there in 1914 - Wanda Cihos was baptised in St Hedwig church in South Bend. Rosalie was born in Rudnick, Polalnd around 1883 and married John Cichosz (later Cihos) there. He and oldest daughter Victoria came to USA and worked in Pennsylvania until they earned enough to bring Rosalie and their two sons Carl and Domanick over here in 1913. They then moved to South Bend and in 1916 or 1917 came to Muskegon, Mi. where youngest Stanley Cihos (my father-in-law) was born 5/1/17. Possibly Rosalie came to South Bend because of your relative? Do you know any of Anna's siblings or parents? Rosalie died also around 1934 and her husband in 1943 here in Muskegon, Mi.
Since Rootsweb did some changes it seems that none of the mail is going
through. I have even contacted AOL to see what was going on since Rootsweb
claims that AOL is not accepting mail from them. Course AOL says they are. Is
posting just not going on??
