WINAMAC, Ind. ? Richard William Geldner, 84, 881 S. Ind. 119, formerly of
South Bend, died Friday at 6:25 p.m. at his home.
He was born Jan. 2, 1921, in South Bend, to Richard W. and Martha (Allen)
Geldner.
He married Betty L. Daniels June 21, 1947, in South Bend. He moved from
South Bend to Winamac in 1999.
He was employed for 46 years as a brick layer and cement finisher for the
South Bend Community School System before retiring in 1982.
He was a veteran of the army during World War II, receiving two bronze
stars.
He was a member of the Jehovah?s Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Georgia (John) Vanator, Berea, Ky.;
two sons, Martin Geldner, South Bend, and Bruce (Linda) Geldner, Culver; and
a sister, Betty Hubler, South Bend.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later
date.
Elkhart Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

WINIMAC -- Richard William Geldner, 84, of 881 S. S.R. 119, Winimac,
formerly of South Bend, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday (March 25, 2005) at his
residence.
He was born Jan. 2, 1921, in South Bend, to Richard W. and Martha Allen
Geldner. He married Betty L. Daniels on June 21, 1947, in South Bend.
She survives along with one daughter, Georgia (John) Vanator of Berea, Ky.;
two sons, Martin Geldner of South Bend and Bruce (Linda) Geldner of Culver;
and one sister, Betty Hubler of South Bend.
There will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later
date. Elkhart Cremation Services, 2100 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, is in
charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Geldner was employed for 46 years as a brick layer and cement finisher
for the South Bend Community School System, retiring in 1982. A U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, he received two bronze stars. He moved from South
Bend to Winimac in 1999 and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He also
enjoyed making things.
