Hi
New Carlisle is in District 110. I checked the 1900 Census but didn't find the Delcamps in New Carlisle. New Carlisle is part of Olive Township.

Subject: [INSTJOSE] 1900 Census in New Carlisle
Can anyone tell me which enumeration district would be a good one to check
for New Carlisle in the 1900 Census Images at Ancestry.com? New Carlisle is
not one of the townships they have listed - is it part of another township?
I'm trying to find information about the DELCAMP girls:
Eva DELCAMP married Charles BARNES in 1891.
Rosa DELCAMP married Frank LIVELSBURGER in 1894.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Syl in Florida

As many of you have read recently, there has been some question as to the
fate of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery during the expansion of the South Bend
Regional Airport (Bendix Field). The following is a statement that was just
released by John Shalliol, Director at the Airport. I think it's obvious
from this statement that Mr. Shalliol has had to answer this question on
more than one occasion:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---
I have repeatedly stated, to neighborhood groups, public officials,
press, etc., that the Airport's plans do not include the Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, except that we might be able to provide additional land for
future expansion of the cemetery, if the cemetery management would want
to do that.
The south right of way line of the relocated Lincolnway West will go
along the north property line of the cemetery. The area from the new
pavement to the south right of way line of LWW will be bermed and
landscaped. In short, the whole area will look much better than it does
now.
No graves will be moved. No stones will be disturbed. We will not do
any maintenance in the cemetery, since we don't do any now. The access
to the cemetery will not be changed.
I realize that I am viewed as a "government official" However, I resent,
for both me and for all other government officials, the immediate and
never-to-be-changed assumption that I am a liar and cannot be trusted.
I have not deviated in any material way from any of the plans that I
have laid out for this project.
I cannot speak for other jurisdictions that might make improvements in
the vicinity of the cemetery. I can only speak for the Airport
Authority, and I reiterate that our plans will do nothing but enhance
the existence of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
John C. Schalliol, AAE
Executive Director
St. Joseph County Airport Authority

Read your post on the mail list. I have the Indiana Vital Records CD, and

Bob,
You probably received this message because you are on the StJoe-rootsweb list. I was responding to a gentleman that had information on the Smith family. His name is Joe.

Bob,
It appears that you may be uninformed about the way the list works. The way
this list is set up, if you hit "Reply" to a message the list address is
automatically filled in. The same is true for the "Reply All" response.
Neither "Reply" nor "Reply All" fills in the original sender's address. The
only way to reply to a sender personally is to type their address in
manually (as I did to you) and delete the list address. This is true for my
browser anyway (Microsoft Outlook Express).
The list is a public forum. The responses to list message are meant be sent
to all list members so that we might all learn by them. This is the same
reason you posted your reply to the entire list. You thought you might be
educating the list as to the proper way to reply, albeit incorrectly. It is
the same as a corporate memo being cc'd to someone other than the addressee.
I'm sorry if you took offense to my finding your response rude. Your
intolerance of these responses is not so much rude as inappropriate and
uninformed.
I am going to address this message to you, as well as the list, in hopes to
inform everyone of the confusion in replying. Then, hopefully, this
discussion will be ended.
Regards,
Pam

Information
We are the former Rootsweb Mailing Lists of INSTJOSE, INELKHAR, INFULTON, INKOSCIU, INLAGRAN, INLAPORT, INMARSHA, INNOBLE, INPORTER, MIBERRIE, MICASS, and MIVANBUR. Due to a long history of little to no traffic it made sense to merge all groups into one regional list. A discussion and research group covering the history and genealogy of the counties that make up the Michiana area. Counties in Indiana; St. Joseph, LaPorte, Elkhart, and Starke. In Michigan; Cass and Berrien. Also counties of Greater Michiana. In Indiana; Fulton, Marshall, Porter, LaGrange, Noble, Kosciusko . In Michigan; Van Buren. Anyone interested in Michiana is welcome to join!
