Kathy,
Thanks for your reply. Roch/Rock and his two wives were born in Poland, but
lived their lives here in South Bend. After his first wife died, he sent to
Poland for another. Roch apparently had a grocery store near Western and
Walnut. I believe there were three children from each marriage. My
grmother, Antoinette Korpal b 10 May 1889 was from his second marriage. She
married Joseph Florian Zielinski in 1913. I have no idea of where in Poland
Roch came from or when or if he had siblings or parents that came w/him etc.
All I know is what I have mentioned in these two notes.

Hi,
Just joined the list. My ggfather was named Isaac Ducket(t). In the 1850 Census, German Township, St. Joseph County Indiana page 99, an Isaac Ducket was 20 years old, a farmer, and lived with a Christian Wollen (or Holler) family - on their farm.
I am not sure this is the Isaac I am looking for. But if anyone could shed some light or provide additional information, I would appreciate it. I am going to be in the Fort Wayne area doing research the first of the week.
Thanks,
Dave Hathaway

My grandfather Michael Wierzbinski ( 1861-1935) emigrated from Poland to
the US around 1891. He had two sisters and a brother whose names are:
Agnes Wierzbinski Jaronik
Antoinette Wierzbinski Kopinski
Vincent Wierzbicki
I would very much appreciate receiving any information on the sisters
and their families. Thank you very much for kind service and time.

A friend requested I post these to the list. The Wilson's were married in the County
in 1850 but are not on the 1850 and 1860 county censuses. Can anyone shed light
here?

Hi Dorothy,
Yes, I have Scottish roots and have been to that festival. Whether
you have Scottish roots
or not Kalamazoo does a pretty good job and I would highly recommend it. I
went two years ago
with my husband and three kids (13, 11, & 8 at the time) and they loved it
especially my 2 sons.

Does anyone have access to view the 1860 census for Portage township? I've
been looking for a Chester Lee Stiles, but there are only listings for his
siblings (and some of those misspelled). I was looking on an index on
genealogylibrary.com and found a Chester Lee in Portage township. I'm just
curious if there's any other information listed with him. He had been
living with his guardian, Arthur Keyes (his uncle) but I can't even find
Arthur on that census, but really don't think they lived anywhere else at
the time. I do have some copies of the guardianship papers, so I know they
were in the area at that time. Can anyone help me?

I have a question for the list. I need a mailing address for the
Riverview Cemetery and the Highland Cemetery, so I can send a request for
information. I have HATFIELD'S, MYERS, and JOHNSON'S buried in Riverview
and LIKES and HATFIELD'S buried in Highland. I found the following
address online but I am not sure if these are the mailing address or
physical address as no zip code was included.
Riverview Cemetery
2300 Portage Ave.
South Bend
Highland Cemetery
2257 Portage Ave.
South Bend
I appreciate any help you can offer, as I live in Texas it is sometimes
difficult to find this information.
