Does anyone have any information on a club that was in South Bend called the Warsaw Club? I don't know its years of operation, but I do know that it existed in 1940.
Thank you
Pam

Dear Pam,
If you find out anything about this club, will you contact me. I am looking
for Polish ancestors that may have been in St. Joe. This might be a lead.
Thanks,
Shirley

I hope I'm not offending by sharing this poem but It truly could have been
written by anyone of us.
AM I REALLY ME?
I started out calmly, tracing my tree,
To find, if I could, the makings of me.
And all that I had was Great-grandfather's name,
Not knowing his wife's nor from whence they both came.
I chased him across a long line of states,
And came up with pages and pages of dates.
When all put together, it made me forlorn,
Proved poor Great-grandpa had never been born.
One day I was sure the truth I had found,
Determined to turn this whole thing upside down.
I looked up the record of one Uncle John,
Then found the old man was younger than his son.
But then when my hopes were growing quite dim,
I came across records that must have been him.
The facts I collected - they made me quite sad,
Dear old Great-grandfather was never a Dad.
I think someone surely is pulling my leg,
I'm not at all sure I'm not hatched from an egg.
After hundreds of dollars I've spent on my tree,
I can't help but wonder if I'm really me.

Hello List
Would any one have info on Dr. Samual M. Mc Donald and wife Bessie. They were married in 1911, St. Joseph Co. Indiana. I have info that they lived at 621 Rex st. South Bend, Indiana. My main interest is in Bessie Trombley/Tremble and her family.
Any and all info is greatly appreciated.
Thanking all in advance,
Jim slimsjim(a)hotmail.com
Am looking for information on Moses Myatt/Mailhot. Born in Quebec in
1828 married to Hermine/Amanda Cadieux (?). The family with two girls,
Amanda and Amelia, migrated to St. Joseph Co., IN @1856. Twin sons,
Moses and Joseph Peter, were born in 1857.
In 1864 the land that was owned by Moses and his wife was transferred to
an attorney and back to her. I can't find a death certificate or what
happened to Moses. In 1869 the widow married Francis Gauthier/Gokey.
The daugher Amanda married in 1871 Leonard Chausse.
The widow appears in the 1870 census with her husband and the Myatt
children.
Thanks for any information.

Pam:
I know I have that book here somewhere, but I can't find it right now. If I
do find it, you are welcome to it. I can't remember the name of it, but it
did have Polish names in it. I did not know that's what it was when I bought
it. If I can find it I will let you know.
Mary
I'm looking for a copy of the book:
St. Joseph Polish Cemetery inscriptions from the old section
by Gene Stachowiak Szymarek published 1987
Does anyone have a copy that they would like to sell? I found a copy of her Cedar Grove book, but I can't find a copy of this one anywhere.

Hi Shirley,
I checked my file. I do have a match with Hattie Shupert. My Hattie married
William Finch. I don't have any dates other than her parents.......
Paul Shupert 1854-1940 and Minnie Steim b.1853 they were married 5-1-1873
If we are talking about the same Hattie, let me know. I can go back further,
but I do stop there with Hattie and William. I am a descendant of John W.
Shuppert, brother to the above Paul Shupert. And yes, it is my John W. who
spelled it with "pp", while his siblings spelled it with "p".
Regards,
Dawn

We are the former Rootsweb Mailing Lists of INSTJOSE, INELKHAR, INFULTON, INKOSCIU, INLAGRAN, INLAPORT, INMARSHA, INNOBLE, INPORTER, MIBERRIE, MICASS, and MIVANBUR. In Michigan; Cass and Berrien. Also counties of Greater Michiana. In Indiana; Fulton, Marshall, Porter, LaGrange, Noble, Kosciusko . In Michigan; Van Buren. Anyone interested in Michiana is welcome to join!
