Hi -
I am looking for any information on Johannes "John" and Elizabeth (BERKHEISER)
MILLER and their children. Elizabeth was born between 1810 and 1820 to Johann
Peter and Maria Catharina BERKHEISER in Schuylkill Co., PA. She and John had
at least the following six children:
1) George MILLER
b.September 16, 1830
2) Sarah MILLER
b.July 1, 1833
3) Jacob MILLER
b.September 23, 1835
4) Elizabeth MILLER
b.April 3, 1837
5) Johannes MILLER
b.October 15, 1839
6) Franklin MILLER
b.July 1, 1841
All of these children were baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South
Manheim Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA. It is possible that the family moved to
Berks Co., PA because that is from where Elizabeth's grandparents moved.
Also, there is a good possibility that the family moved to either Miami Co.,
IN or St. Joseph Co., IN because that is where Elizabeth's brother and many
other BERKHEISER relatives moved in the mid-1800s. Any information would be
greatly appreciated!
Gregory

Seeking information/living relatives of the Charles Zook Family who were
listed in the 1920 census of St Joseph County IN. With Charles are his wife,
Mabel age 32, and sons Sheldon 13 and Kenneth 3. I would also like to
correspond with others who might be researching the Zook family. Thanks in
advance.
Hello,
Because I live in Alabama, I have to rely on the LDS Family History Centers
to do Indiana research. I recently ordered a copy of the 1920 Indiana
soundex so I could search for a Charles E Zook and his family. Fortunately
there is an soundex card for his family. My problem is that some of the
soundex card is not readable on the microfilm roll. I am not able to read
the enumeration district number so I don't know which of three rolls for St
Joseph County I need to order so I can look at the regular census page. I was
wondering if someone who has access to the 1920 soundex might be kind enough
to check for this Charles E Zook and let me know what the enumeration
district number is. I was also unable to read Charles' age. I would be
greatly appreciative of the above information.
Thanks in advance.

A discussion and research group covering the history and genealogy of the counties that make up the Michiana area. Counties in Indiana; St. Joseph, LaPorte, Elkhart, and Starke. In Michigan; Cass and Berrien. Also counties of Greater Michiana. In Indiana; Fulton, Marshall, Porter, LaGrange, Noble, Kosciusko . In Michigan; Van Buren. Anyone interested in Michiana is welcome to join!
