Hi Nancy,
Now that we have it figured out I would like to request another lookup or
if anyone else could help. I am trying to pinpoint within a decade the
deaths of some of my ancestors. I would like to search the Indiana
index/census for RIGGENS/RIGGINS in 1870, 1880 and 1900 for Kosciusko,
Marshall and St. Joseph counties. I would greatly appreciate any help. I
do not get to the Detroit Public Library but a few times a year and their
Indiana census records are not complete. If anyone needs help in the
northern lower peninsula of Michigan I would try to help in return.
Thanks.
Kim
p.s. thanks to rc.smith ( I do not know your name) and Ilene too.
Nancy,
If you could just do 1870 that would be great. I know in Kosciusko county
they lived in Etna Green in 1875 because that is when my great-grandfather
was born. Marshall county they lived in Culver & Plymouth at different
times. Thanks again.

Hi Nancy,
Could you possibly check the 1860 and 1870 Indiana census for the surname
RIGGENS/RIGGINS if it is available to you. The Detroit Public library does
not have the indexes for these years. They would have lived in St. Joseph,
Marshall or Kosciusko counties. Thanks.

Kim,
I have all those census's available to me.St. Joseph county is no problem I am
sure it has an index. The other two counties I have the census but, I am not
sure about the index's. If they are there no problem if not,it would be like
looking for a needle in a haystack as I would have to look through the entire
county. I will see what we have though. I am pretty sure we have a state index
for those years. I will get back with you over the weekend.
Nancy
Hi all,
This is the last week I will be doing lookups on a weekly basis as I am going
back to school. I will continue to do lookups as requested but, I may not be
able to get back with you as soon as I have been. Just thought I'd let you
know what's going on happy hunting everyone!

Another great place to find links using alternate spellings is the Surname Helper
Search at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/surhelp/srchall.html
Nancy:
If you have time on Friday, I am intested in a marriage lookup, if they
are available.
Syvanus Eaton, b. abt 1812, NY m. 1 jan 1840 Delaware County Ohio
Esther Rogers, b. abt 1818 Ohio
children:
Sarah, b. abt 1842, Ohio
James b. abt1844, Ohio
Nancy b. abt 1846, Ohio
Lucy b. abt 1848
Franklin b. abt 1850 Ohio
Susan b. abt 1858 Indiana
I would be interested in marriages for any of these children.
In 1860, The Eatons are in St. Joseph County, Indiana
1870 is not indexed, but I did find Franklin working in a brick yard and
living with the owner of the brick yard. In 1880, there is a James
Eaton that is married to and Eliza that looks like a match, with
children Adelbert and Nancy.
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

I checked my census index CDs for 1820 - 1850, only BUCHHEITs I found
were in 1850, two in NJ and one in Buffalo NY. I also have the
"Pennsylvania Vital Records 1700s-1800s" and "Pennsylvania German Church
Records, 1719-1876" and searched them also with no success. I did use
the Soundex option but didn't try any alternate spellings ... sorry it

Looking for information on my gg-grandparents Benjeman Dennis Smith and
his wife Mary Emeline Bennett. Benjeman was born in 1855 and Mary was
born 1855. Benjeman father was Job Smith. I believe all of their
children were born in St. Joseph Co. Children were Harvey Ralph, Chloe
Maud, lena Mae, Ruby Francis, b. 1884 married James Coler, Harry Dennis
b. 1886, and Hary Wilmer b. 1894. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Did you find the inquirers? I have their addresses if not.
Hi,
During my trip to Sykesville, I learned that my Jacob BUCHHEIT may have
lived in Lancaster County (possibly with his parents) when he came into the
United States around 1824. Does anyone know of any "BUCHHEIT"s living in
the Lancaster County, PA area during the 1820s?
Your help is appreciated,
