Hi Don :-)
I have found nothing on my Cannon/Canan's yet. I have some people that research
actual census but most of Starke County Indiana's census only go back to 1860 or 1890.
I've heard nothing from them yet either.
I would be interested in any families that owned farm land in Starke County that you
have. I think my grandfather said his
grandfather's name was John Cannon/Canan. I know they owned lots of land in Knox,
Starke County, Indiana. So much as a matter of fact that he gave most of it away. They did
own a large piece of land just north of the Yellow River in Knox were my grandfather
resided as a child, he often told the story of how he nearly drowned in the river. I know
my grandfather told many stories of growing up in Knox and we'd go camping yearly at
Bass Lake State Beach which is also in Knox, Indiana.
I'm not giving up hope that someone out there has some information on this family.
