I know this was from some time ago that you were researching, although I have
done this seriously only this year. My grandfather and grandmother were Surphin
and Lela Casper from Monterey, Indiana. His parents were John and Ambrosia
Casper. Johns' parents were Jacob and Elizabeth Casper both of whom were born in
Baden, Germany. Jacob was born in 1824 and died in 1900. Elizabeth was born in
1829 and died in 1890. They are all buried in Zion Cemetery near Culver,
Indiana.
I have also tried to contact Bryan Tinkle a relative thru Jacob Casper the
brother of Surphin. I have not had a response yet. I have E-Mail direct. If we
can provide inoformation for each other I would appreciate this very much. I am
awaiting information from the overseer of the Zion Cemetery as to who is buried
there. There may have been a name change from Germany to USA, possibly Kasper.
