Am not researching this line, just trying to help. I think this is your Bryant Bray.In
the 1900 census for Kentucky, Rockcastle county, Round Stone township, Dist 65, page 8A,
there was a family headed by James Bray, 42, born Sep 1857, married 18 years, a farmer,
and included his wife Jane, 34, Nov 1865, married 18 years, mother of 6 all still living,
his son Bryant, 16, Apr 1884, farm laborer, his daughter Mana, 14, Mar 1886, his son
Charley, 12, Apr 1888, farm laborer, his daughter Laura, 10, Mar 1890, his daughter Oma,
7, Jun 1892, and his son Olliver, 5, Mar 1895. All born in Ky as were thier parents. In
the 1910 census for the same county and township, Dist 98, page 18A, there was a family
headed by Bryant Bray, 25, born in Ky, a laborer doing odd jobs, and included his wife
Nancy, 18, Ky. In the 1920 census the family had moved to Ohio, Miami county, Monroe
township, Dist 165, page 9A, and was headed by Bryant Bray, 34, a section hand for a steam
railroad, born in !
Ky, and included his wife Nancy, 27, Ky, his daughter Nora, 8, Ky, his daughter Martha,
5, Ky and his son Clarence, (could not make out his exact age but was less than a year),
Ky. You are right that Bryant died before 1930, althought I don't know where. In the
1930 census the family had moved to Indiana, Marion county, Center township, city of
Indianapolis, Dist 414, page 16A, and was headed by Nancy Bray, 36, a widow, first married
at 16, and included her son Clarence, 10, her daughter Lillian, 5, her daughter Martha
Young, 16, married at 16, and her son-in-law Henry Young, 18, married at 18, a packer in a
coffee house. All were born in Ky as well as thier parents. Hope this helps. Don
