Try writing to Starke County for the marriage record.

She has helped me with numerous family members. Ask her to check for a marriage for Jacob
Dean/Deen, Jr. (I've seen it spelled both ways. Lots of names were misspelled back
then.) She has an index she can check. Give her approximate year you think he may have
married. (Tell her he was 17, & single, in the 1870 census and widowed by 1880
census.) Send her $1 for the copy and a self-addressed stamped envelope. If she
doesn't find it she will return your money. (I would also tell her he married your
great grandmother in 1885 so she won't get the wrong record.)
Good luck!
