I knew you GreatGrandparents, from a small child up. I use to go to their house, when your
Mother and Wanda were there. I liked them, they were really nice people, they had very
nice home on North Main Street, it was a brick house and it was the last house at the
curve going towards the park. The home is still there. It seemed to me that Rhoda use to
work, there was a paint store next door to their house and I am sure she use to work
there, in fact, I keep getting flash backs that maybe, they use to own the store. it is no
longer there, its now a vacant lot where the store use to be.
I will have to check it out. Hans use to work for the Town of Knox, I can remember him
driving a dump truck and patching holes in the street and snow plowing in the winter. All
they had back then, was a farm tractor to clean out the sidewalks with. We have come along
way since then. I am sure that Beulah, had pictures of her parents, do you need dates? I
probably could get those for you. I wonder what happened to all of the pictures that Paul
and Nellie had. I would have liked to had our family pictures. I had talked to Jane and I
ask her for them, but I never heard from her.I heard she had threw all of the pictures
out. This has been upsetting to me. Also, recently I heard that there might be some of the
Hansen memorabilia at the Starke County Museum in Knox, they are located on South Main St,
it use to be Governor Schriecker's home. They operate on a very limited staff, they
are open from noon to 3 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
Let me know what else I can do for you, I will try to get any information that I can for
you.
