I have no info, but have you tried the 1900 U.S. Census for Starke &
other
Indiana counties. The Census was my basis for finding Indiana relatives
at
the turn of the century. most larger local libraries have copies of
census
on microfilm.
Good luck

I'm searching for any and all information on my great-grandparents,
Gustavus Thonert and his wife (I believe her name is Ethel Ammons
Lindsey).
Gustavus Thonert is the son of Emil Wilhelm Thonert and Pauline W.
Gussmann of Germany. He was born in Indiana in July 1877 and was married
to Ethel Ammons Lindsey. Since their first child, Albert, was born in
1904, I am assuming that Gustavus and Ethel were married sometime between
1895 and 1903. Their daughter, Matilda, is my paternal grandmother and
she was born in North Judson, Starke Co., Indiana on March 13, 1907.
According to a Thursday, November 14, 1929 newspaper article from the
North Judson News, graciously provided to me by Debora Craft of Knox, it
appears Gustavus and Ethel were living in Hammond, Indiana during that
time frame.
Any information is anyone might have would be deeply appreciated. And if
anyone needs to contact me here's how:
