Searching for any information on the family of Milton JACKSON (born 04 Aug
1804, died 07 Sep 1886). The family moved to Carter Township, Spencer Co.,
Indiana from Kentucky in 1815. Milton's mother died in 1818 from "Milk
Sickness." Milton's father ("Elder" JACKSON) married three times
afterwards and was the father of fifty children. "Elder" JACKSON
eventually moved to Cass County, Illinois, and died about 1846.
Milton JACKSON married (17 Dec 1829) Jane SUMNER (b. 26 Jan 1811) the
daughter of Thomas SUMNER and Nancy GEARE. Milton founded the town of
Fulda, Spencer, IN.
Milton's brother John G. JACKSON (b. c1802) married 21 Jan 1822 Catherine
LAMAR (b. c1806), had son Milton JACKSON (b. c1821) married Margaret
"Peggy" HARRIS.
Milton's brother Jonathan (b. 01 Apr 1811) married 13 May 1832 Lillah GEAR
(b. c1804), had son Thomas William/William Thomas JACKSON (b. c1831)
married 15 Apr 1861 Elizabeth STEINS (b. 15 Sep 1843), and served in Co. B,
145th Ind. Inf.
Are these Milton's relatives?
John M. JACKSON -- lived on a farm in Perry Co., near Huffman, Indiana.
Charles JACKSON -- operated a store one mile south of Fulda, Spencer, IN.
I have a book about seven generations of this family, will look up info.
