Good evening Peggy,
Thanks for the hard work in transcribing the papers. I would like to know
if you could look up a couple of things for me......
I see that Jackson Abshier ran for the assessor office in the Oct. 1852
election. Does the paper tell of the results or anything on him?
Also does the paper list James Abshire in an obit anywhere? He is 90 in
1850 but that is the last I have been able to find of him.
Thank you
Isaac Moffett

I've tried three times this morning to post a message to the Spencer Co.
message board on Rootsweb; there seems to be a problem, or several of them,
on
Rootsweb.
I've put two additional parts of The Planter Newspaper on the website. This
transcriptions were submitted by Stephen C. Meyer, and though I've had part
one up for quite some time, I only just now got parts two and three up.
This
newspaper was published in Rockport in the mid 1800s and is very interesting
in
a historical sense. It also includes many names from Spencer County. A few
I've noticed, because they've appeared recently on the message board, are
Shoptaugh, Abshear, and Cissne (Cessna).
Come on over and check them out. I've put green NEW signs in front of them.
Remember that when you want to return to the previous page, you need to hit
