I am researching the family of Benjamin PERRY b ab 1781 possibly Virginia
and his wife, Lucretia (nee prob HAMAR) b ab 1783 poss N Carolina. They
were m Adams Co OH
They had four sons that I know of: Nathaniel b 1808 Brown Co, OH, Ezekiel
Beasley b Dec 2 1811 Mason Co, KY, Job W. b 1814 Brown Co OH and Benjamin F.
b 1817 Hamilton Co, OH.
This family came to Shelby Co as far as I can tell in the 1830's. All the
boys were married in Shelby Co. Nathaniel m Margaretta Coburn Dec 4 1831,
Ezekiel m Mary Ann Bonner 1835/6, Job m Sarah Jane Wilson 1835/6 and
Benjamin m Eliza Jane Collins Feb 1840. They all had children there.
Fairly large families. I have the names if anyone is interested and/or
researching these families. So far I have found three of the children that
enlisted in the military during the Civil War. James B., son of Ezekiel,
was killed during the war. His brother Benjamin F. W. and cousin Jos B (son
of Nathaniel) are the other two.
Would be interested in whatever info is available for this family. I do
have the census info. for 1850 but that is all.
If at all possible am also trying to learn birthplaces of Benjamin and
Lucretia and their parents' names. Benj's middle initial might be J. but
I'm not 100% sure. Would be interested in seeing if that is true and what
it stands for.
Benjamin d 17 Sept 1857 and Lucretia d 13 Apr 1855 but I don't know where.
I think it was Shelby Co but so far I have not found any records. Would
also be interested in that if available.
I have more family info if anyone else is researching any of these families.
Some of the families, but not all, later moved to Edgar Co, IL and Lyon Co,
KS.
If no one on the list has access to any info does Shelby Co. have a
genealogical library or society that I can contact?
Thanks to anyone that has any info or any leads as to where would be the
best place to obtain info in Shelby Co.
