This book has no cover, and no index, and no author. I bought it on Ebay; it just has the
insides, but it is full of Indiana biographies. I am not researching this family, just
thought I would share. I do not know anymore about these families or these surnames. NOTE:
I don’t know if there is any additional mention of this family in the book, it has no
index. I do not want to sell this book. I am typing the biographies from it.

ARTHUR W. RECORDS as a physician and surgeon has practiced at Franklin since 1923. He came
to his work well equipped by education and hospital training and experience, and has been
a constant student and has accepted every opportunity for contact with prominent
professional men and institutions. During 1929 Doctor Records went abroad and did
post-graduate work in the University of Berlin and in Vienna, Austria. He was born at
Lexington, Kentucky, January 18, 1897, but is a member of a very old Indiana family. His
great-great-grandfather, Josiah Records, was born in Kentucky and came to Indiana about
1800. He was a farmer. Doctor Records’ great-grandfather, William P. Records, was born at
Columbus, Indiana. Doctor Records’ grandfather, James L. Records, was a native of Shelby
County, Indiana. Doctor Records is a son of Levi and Cora (Wilson) Records. Cora Wilson
was a daughter of Samuel Wilson, who served all through the Civil war with the Union army,

ying General Sherman’s forces on the march to the sea. Arthur W. Records was one of a
family of five children. He attended the common schools of Bartholomew County, the
Edinburg High School, and in 1915 graduated with the A.B. degree from Franklin College. He
subsequently entered Ohio State University School of Homeopathic Medicine at Columbus, and
from August, 1918, to December 10, 1918, was enrolled in the Student Army Training Corps
there, this constituting his war service. In 1921 he was graduated M.D., and served as an
interne in the University Hospital at Columbus and also in the Miami Valley Hospital at
Dayton. Doctor Records began his career as a physician and surgeon at Franklin in January,
1923. He handles a general practice, and is also a member of the staff of the Methodist
Hospital. He is a member of the Johnson County, Indiana State and American Medical
Associations, and is second vice president of the American Institute of Homeopathy. Doctor

married Miss Edna Allred, and they have one child, Alyse Rives, now in
school. On October 7, 1930, he married for his second wife Miss Ruth Merritt, of
Columbus, Indiana. Doctor Records is a member of the American Legion, belongs to
the Kiwanis Club, and is affiliated with Franklin Lodge No. 107, A. F. and A. M., the
Improved Order of Red Men, and is secretary of the Midwest Alumni Chapter of Phi Alpha
Gamma and a member of the Columbia Club of Indianapolis.
