thank you very much.
I do not think this is my jones family though, since he was still alive
at Dessa's 1st marriage in 1907. Dessa's married names were Wilcoxon,
Bunnier (or Bunyea), Brock, and Cassidy. She spent most of her married life
in oregon, except she was suppsed to have been in Ft Wayne Indiana in 1920
when my grandma was born. I live in Oregon so it is not likely i will ever
get there to do the research in person.
thank you for letting me know which of the Marion indiana's is closest to
Wabash.

Dawna, when looking anything up, you usually have a town, township, state,
so when it states Marion, Grant, Indiana it is saying the town of Marion the
county of Grant and the state of Indiana. Grant County is north of Shelby
County, look on an atlas an you will see going north on Highway 9, nexts
county is Hancock, then Madison, then Grant, and the Wabash county. Marion
is where the court house is, Dept of Health, you would go for information
for births/deaths/marriages. You would also go to their library or genealogy
library, and they may have a listing for cemeteries in the county. The same
would apply for Wabash county, the courthouse would be in the town of
Wabash.
There is a listing for Jones Cemetery in Noble Township, Shelby County,
Indiana for the following Lewis Jones, not sure if this is your's or not.
Lewis H. Jones Feb 24, 1840 - Feb 2, 1906
Margaret J. Jones April 17, 1839 - Feb 11, 1905 wife
Hattie E. Jones Oct 23, 1862 - Oct 30 1905
Did not find a listing for Amanda Keemray Jones, or Dessa May Jones, on
Dessa, remember you would need her married name to do a look up, if she was
married. These may or may not be yours, but there is always a possiblity. I
hope this helps, should you have other's in Shelby County, let me know.

i am new to the list. I am searching for Luther or Lewis Jones who was
living in Marion, Indiana in 1907. I have yet to figure out if that means
Marion, shelby, Indiana or Marion, Grant, Indiana, or Marion county
indiana.
He was retired in 1907. He was born in indiana, his wife was amanda
keemray (she died prior to 1907). They had a daughter Dessa May Jones
born
1889 in North Manchester, Wabash, Indiana.
